Key Achievements
Developed the Miami-Tax Guide website that would get 100 low-propensity EITC-eligible filers to file their taxes, thus bringing ~$200k in federal money to low-income families that would not have otherwise filed.
We partnered with United Way to build a digital intervention aimed to increase EITC Participation amongst low-propensity eligible filers.
During the 2019 tax season we created and validated a set of tools designed to motivate low-propensity filers to file taxes and claim their refunds. These materials and engagement strategies were explicitly built on behavioral research we conducted with users to understand the motives and concerns of low-propensity filers in Miami-Dade.
Digital Tax Expert.
We conducted user research and participatory design to create a digital tool that would help low-propensity EITC-eligible filers to file their taxes. The intervention resulted in a website co-designed with the community and a chatbot providing expert tax advice to users.
